I use DNP printers: .com …o-Printer_DS620ASET.aspxįor the simplest of setups you can tether the camera to a laptop. I've done everything from simple to enclosed selfie booths.įirst off, for strips you pretty much have to go with a dye-sub printer. I was searching for something else and came across this thread and thought I would toss in for future readers. Next time I want to make some kind of indicator to let people know the booth is in use.Īnd I am thinking of using a QR code to publish the IP address of the Webserver (Laptop).Ĭanon EOS 1Dx / 5D4 / 5Dsr / Nikon D4 / Lytro illum I blew off the dust and used it as a WiFi router. I walked by at regular intervals to check if everything was still working.Īt the end of the day I could get to my camera so I used a large memory card.Ī few months ago I experimented with the TL-MR3040 and DSLR Controller, when it was still a beta. My equippement was hidden behind the enclosure so the visitors could not reach it. I bought a few cheap cardboard ties, glasses, mustaches and plastic hats. To avoid abuse of the pictures that were made I moved all pictures every 15 minutes.Īnd by moving the pictures to another folder the list doesn't get very long so it is easier for the visitors to find their own picture. My construction can run unattended so I do not see what kind of pictures are being made. Set the tool to move all the pictures to another folder every 15 minutes. Now they see a list of the pictures taken and can view them on their device and download them to their device if they want. Instruct the visitors to connect to your WiFi and start their browser and enter the IP address. Write the IP adddress of your laptop on a piece of paper and show it to the visitors. Point the root of the webserver to the download folder from digiCamControl (Change the SSID on the Wifi router to a meaningfull name) (take a test shot and check the settings)Ĭonnect your laptop via WiFi to the WiFi router. Mount the Emergency switch button and connect the other end to the camera. (I used a second monitor connected to my laptop to show the picture taken and mounted it inside the enclosure) Go to the settings and configure it as you seem fit. Open the remote shutter and remove the wiresĬonnect the remote cable to the camera and check which wires are used for "halfpress" and "full press".Ĭonnect the Emergency switch button to the "full press" wires.Ĭonnect the camera via USB to the laptop. I wanted to invest as little as I possibly could so if things got lost or broken I wouldn't mind.ġ: A kind of enclosure (the organisation gave me a wooden one 10ftx20ft approx.)ģ: Remote shutter (the cheapes you can buy or a broken one you haven't thrown away yet)ġ0: Synchronization tool (I used Dsynchronize - a.org/eng/ ) I had a similar idea to DIY a photobooth for a 4 day festival. (Yep it looks a lot like the MR-3040, no you can't convert a MR3040 to a camranger) Good thing I have Amazon Prime.īuy a TPlink TL-MR3040 wireless router and flash it with the custom firmware.īuy the latest or find a free beta version. This is a last minute small party so I know there is not much time. (Is there a reverse set up where the tablet is not on top of camera?) To be honest, wouldn't mind using this in the future for clients' small events if this works. I have read some photobooth apps allow for emailing among other social media sharing options. If I do decide on a printer, still wouldn't know which one that prints 2圆 photo strips. I am still contemplating if I would purchase a printer. Has anyone used or has knowledge on one of these? Will it work with my XTi? What is needed to accomplish this? I have looked at some apps like simple booth, pg booth, pocket booth, photo booth, spark booth, just to name a few. I also have some lights and would like to set up a simple photobooth so they can take pictures with friends/cousins. My son's birthday party is coming up in a week and I have a XTi and an Ipad Mini/Samsung Tab 7.
